PICA identity displayed on a large banner across the heritage gallery building
PICA 2021 website by Ryan Sandilands and Tim Meakins: the original recorded programme and exhibition experience

Opportunity

Make PICA easier to discover, understand and navigate. Connect the online experience with a clearer journey through its heritage building, while keeping a diverse programme of artists and performances at the centre.

Solution

Working with Tim Meakins, I connected the rebrand and website redesign with a major signage overhaul. Brand direction, digital design and venue wayfinding formed a shared system for finding information and moving through PICA’s programme and spaces.

That system extended across publications, exhibition campaigns and programme communications, balancing a recognisable institutional identity with room for individual artists and projects.

Outcome

A connected physical and digital experience, bringing the website, signage and communications into one coherent framework. A clearer foundation for helping audiences find their way, understand what’s on and engage with the work.
